I am broadly interested in community ecology and conservation biology, with a particular focus on bird communities, ecological networks, and island biogeography. Combining fieldwork with network modelling, my previous research examined how habitat fragmentation shapes frugivory and seed-dispersal interactions between birds and fleshy-fruited plants in Thousand Island Lake, China. Building on these interests, I currently
investigate functional shifts in frugivorous bird communities and function-oriented conservation in isolated forest fragments in the southern Brazilian Amazon. More broadly, I aim to understand the conservation status of frugivores and their seed-dispersal interactions in the context of ongoing global change.
Prior to joining the Drongos, I received my PhD in Ecology from Zhejiang University (2024) and worked as a postdoctoral researcher in China. I also spent a year as a visiting PhD student at the University of Copenhagen. Outside of research, I enjoy birdwatching and traveling. I am also into basketball and League of Legends.
